kotor 2 is just so good in part cause the exile’s past is the heart of the game in every sense. she was a major, powerful, famous character who did things everyone has heard of and has thoughts on. it’s a hard game to recommend because it’s a story that’s so good for the way it’s revealed little by little, so i can’t just send “confronting atton about his identity” to people, it would make no sense without the context of who atton is, and who the exile is. but it’s such an incredible scene, and it’s told by two early 2000s 3d models standing there doing idle animations… but in short, it reveals that atton harbors a lot of bitterness and contempt for the main character that he’s been hiding behind his aloof stupid guy façade, and even the gentlest attempt to see past it leads to him feeling cornered, lashing out, and telling the main character some really brutal truths 💀 it’s amazing, it’s iconic, it’s still one of my favorite moments in any rpgs
